Whether you are a regular, or whether it is your first time at the Lake Winds Golf Course, in New York, you have to make sure to know the country club, and the golf course policies, in order to be able to tee off at the greens. The course is generally open to the public, but does have member days only, where country club members get the greens to themselves. You also have to know the local policies about having food and beverages out on the course, the right shoes, equipment, and the proper attire for you to play out on the greens.

Although the course is fairly liberal as far as gear, they do require the proper cleats to be worn, and that members and non members follow the policy about food and beverage policy out on the greens. The golfers are allowed to take out drinks, and small snacks, but are not allowed to take out larger coolers, or make a meal day out on the course. The general rules are similar to most golf courses in the area, and the course feel is fairly laid back, as long as all golfers and guests, follow the rules of the golf course.
