Lake Winds Golf Course in Rushville, New York, is a very enjoyable nine-hole golf course located in a very rustic wooden setting.
The course is designed to be walked, not long in yardage and offers fair challenges for the beginner or advanced golfer. Depending upon the tees played, the nine holes can measure from 1,887 to 2,537 yards. For the longer hitters, hitting driver on most holes in not the best play. Several of the holes are designed around a deep gorge that comes into play either off the tee or in front of the greens. For the purely recreational or novice golfer, the holes are designed so that the gorge is less intimidating. The course offers a very pleasant walk through a beautifully wooded area and offers stunning views of Candandaigua Lake.
Facilities include a fully-equipped pro shop as well as practice range and powered golf carts for those looking to ride while playing. The club professionals can provide individual lessons as well and assist in managing a tournament event. Tee times are available on-line, or by calling the pro shop.
The course is well-suited for group play as the design allows for golfers of all abilities to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Group tournaments at the course can be catered by local restaurants and food providers.
Rates range from 15 to 25 depending upon walking or riding, and 12 to 22 for seniors and juniors. Senior rates apply to over age fifty-five and junior rates for 18 years and under. Individual memberships are available and start at 445 annually and go up to 600 for a family of four.
